The Hilton at Walt Disney Resort is quickly filling up with cooties the weekend of August 21-24! In fact, the early rooms are SOLD OUT, so if you were planning on coming to the Supreme Scratch on Saturday August 16th, there are no rooms available at the Hilton. There are no rooms available until Wednesday, August 20th since the early birds have gobbled them all up.
Cooties have become confused about room block assignments, so here's the straight scoop: The hilton books rooms based on the night that you want to check-in. What that means is that if you say that you want to come in on the 16th, they will tell you that the hotel is full, and that is true- on the 16th. But since you used that for your first night, the computer will not make the reservation. The same is true for any night before the 20th if you're using that for your first night. If you start your reservation on the 20th, you should have no problem getting your rooms- provided that you use the code "MOC" to make the reservation. If you don't use the code, they will tell you that the hotel is sold out, which is true because we are holding rooms for the weekend of the 21st through the 24th for our convention.
Now let's talk about room rates. We have booked 1,200 room-nights at this hotel for the price of $99.00 plus taxes. The resort tax has been waived, and that's a good thing because it is another 7% on top of everything else. These 1,200 room-nights are marked as "sold" in the computer. They cannot be used unless you use our code. If you decide that you want two king-sized beds- you're going to pay more for that room. If you want two queen-sized beds again, you're going to pay more. If you want a junior suite (a room with a sitting room) you are going to pay more for that accomodation. Our reservations are for either two double beds (probably what you have in your home) or one king-sized bed for $99.00 a night plus tax. Anything other than that is going to make the price go up. Remember, this is Orlando Florida, the home of Mickey Mouse, and our Scratch is happening the weekend before Labor Day weekend. They have no problem filling their hotel on this weekend, and neither does any other hotel on those dates. Since we don't get to pick the dates, we have to deal with it.
If all of this sounds confusing, here's an answer: simply go to http://my.lotcs.org and look at the link marked 89th SUPREME SCRATCH RESERVATIONS. Click on that link and it will take you to OUR reservation page. Once there, you can book your room, see the price up-front, and make a CONFIRMED reservation right there on the secure site. Your credit card will be charged for one night's lodgings, the same thing that will happen over the phone, and you'll have a print out of your reservation right there. This site is set up just for us and only our folks can get these rooms. It's easy to do, and there's no hassle. Give it a try and make sure that YOUR room is ready and waiting when you get to the Scratch. SEE YOU THERE!
